It seems I am always looking for a birthday card at the last minute, probably has something to do with disorganization and lack of planning, but anyway, it seems I never have enough birthday cards. So when I saw the sketch challenge for this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge I thought it would be a great time to add to my card stash. Retirement Card with CTMH Skylark

Continuing on the retirement theme this weekend, I made a second card using the Skylark paper pack and the Give a Lift stamp set. The sentiments on this stamp set seem to work perfectly for a bright, cheerful retirement card. I used the sketch for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I love the colors in the Skylark paper pack and they work perfectly for the color challenge over at Heart 2 Heart Challenges this week.

Retirement Card with CTMH Balloon Ride

It seems to be the year to retire at our campus. We have three amazing teachers that will be retiring this year. While we hate to see them leave, I know that they are looking forward to many new adventures in life. As I was busy in my scrap room creating this week, I thought I would work on a few retirement cards for all the upcoming retirement parties. They will definitely be missed. I used the sketch at the Heart 2 Heart Sketch challenge for this first card. I absolutely love the Balloon Ride paper and it worked perfectly for this sketch.

Our family just returned from a week in Florida. We spent three days visiting Disney World Parks and two days at Universal Studios parks. We had a great time! The girls loved meeting all the characters. When I saw the challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart challenges, I immediately picked the Sunset and Honey colors and thought of this photo. I used some leftovers from the Cloud Nine kit and added in some cardstock and the fun new White Marquee Enamel Shapes. I love the way it all came together!

I have been going through some older pictures of Kendall and ran across these pictures that where taken of her with her Build-A-Bear  a few years ago. I hadn't scrapbooked them yet so I thought they would be perfect for the new Lollydoodle paper pack from Close To My Heart. I love how girlie this paper pack is and how well it works with the sparkle flourishes. This also worked perfectly for the Flourishes challenge at Heart 2 Heart this week!

Sassy Girl Layout with Artbooking

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  The blogger in front of me is Barbi Kelley.   The Stampers with an Attitude are excited to show artwork with Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine, so here we go. I created this layout using the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge for the Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine Blog Hop and the Heart 2 Heart Spotlight challenge. Our sweet baby girl is always in the spotlight at our house and she certainly has a shining personality. She is the baby of the family by over 10 years and has three big brothers who adore her and are extremely protective. These pictures were taken a couple of years ago, but I had never really found the perfect layout for them yet. I knew they would need some Sparkle and Shine to make them really reflect her personality! I cut the Zebra background using the cartridge out of our Black Glitter Paper. I love that Close To My Hearts Glitter Paper cuts so well on the Cricut! I added lots of hand rolled paper flowers to match the roses in her pictures. Don't you love the quilling tool? It makes creating these paper flowers so quick and easy! I added a sparkle to the center of each of the paper flowers. I really love how everything came together to Shimmer, Sparkle, and Shine!

I used the new Balloon Ride Paper Pack and created a cloud look with the sketch. I really struggled with this sketch until my husband walked by and said, "That looks like clouds" and boom! From there it all came together very quickly. Sometimes you just need fresh eyes and a new idea!

For the Love of Artbooking

When I read the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week and thought about choosing a CTMH product that I love, I knew it would be a hard choice. I LOVE everything about CTMH! The paper, stamps, embellishments, well everything, but the product that I use the most are our Cricut Cartridges. No matter if I am making a layout, card, or other project it seems I am always reaching for one of our Cricut Cartridges to add just the right touch, either an overlay, a paper pieced embellishment, or a perfectly cut design to match one of our many stamp sets. The layout I made for this week features the Timberline paper pack and the Artbooking Cartridge. I love the overlays we can cut with these cartridges. What a great way to show off this terrific paper pack!

CTMH Frosted Layout

I created this two-page layout for my January club layout. I absolutely love the Frosted paper and it has turned out to be my favorite paper pack from the Autumn/Winter 2013 catalog. I have used this paper pack to make thank you cards, birthday cards, Christmas cards, decorated clipboards, baby layouts, beach layouts, winter layouts, and now this layout that could be used for just about any pictures. I just love the colors in this paper pack and I am addicted to making these paper flowers! I hope I don't run out of this paper anytime soon. This layout also works perfectly for the Heart 2 Heart Two-Faced Challenge. I used both sides of the bulk paper on this layout.

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  The blogger in front of me is Pamela O'Connor.   The Stampers with an Attitude are excited to show artwork with Close to My Heart Washi tape plus our stamp sets, so here we go.

I must admit that while I have ordered every roll of Washi Tape that CTMH has sold, I have only used it once and just a small piece on a card so I was hoping this blog hop would give me a reason to pull it out and get creative. So yesterday that was my plan, just sit down and get creating. I must admit that since I really didn't have any clue how I wanted to use the tape that I spent a lot of time staring at it. I would start on something and then decide to do something different and start over. I really was at a loss as to what to create. So after several hours of half finished ideas, I went to bed and decided to take a fresh look at it this morning. I would like to say that I got up this morning and created that one amazing card that I just loved, but that was not the case. I did however, get up and finish each and everyone of those projects that I had started and I am pleased with the result. The tape is actually really easy to work with and I think it adds a lot to each of the cards. So, here are pictures of all the projects I finished using the Washi Tape. I can't wait to use it on other projects soon. 

I think this one turned out to be my favorite. It is a little busy with all the patterns, but I like it. 

I really like the Lifting Spirits stamp set. I had gotten to use it yet and I love that little banner for the sentiment. 

I also made a group of 3x3 cards with the scraps that were laying on the table. 

I like the look of the washi tape as a banner. So easy to create.

New Beginnings!

What an exciting year it has been so far and we are only 6 days into 2014! I am thrilled to announce that I have been chosen to be on the Heart 2 Heart Design Team for the upcoming 2014 term! I am excited and honored to be a part of this team. I will also continue to be a part of the design team for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and for KellyCraft. I foresee 2014 being a very busy and productive year for me! Here is my fist project that I created for Heart 2 Heart. We would love to have you play along with us. For my New Beginnings project, I created a two page layout of our puppy, Sherlock. He was meant to be a Christmas present for our son Jefferson, but he arrived a little late. None the less, the kids were thrilled to meet him and he has been a welcome addition to our family.
