'Tis the Season!

I absolutely love Christmas and everything about it, from the tree to the presents, making my cards, the food, and of course, most importantly celebrating the birth of Christ. I have always loved Christmas even as a child, but once we had the boys, it took on a whole new meaning to me. Celebrating with our children and enjoying our family traditions with them reminds me just how very blessed we are. So, when I saw the sketch challenge for this week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , I immediately thought Christmas card. The sketch as below. We would love to have you join us. I like the new CTMH Sparkle and Shine paper and I am really enjoying using the washi tape that matches.

Warm Winter Wishes

It is getting to be the time of year when the weather gets cold and we all start to bundle up. This last week get was unseasonably cool here in South Texas with temperatures dipping down to freezing in our area. As I pull out my winter coat and put my flip flops away for a few months, I remember being young and enjoying the cold weather and the snow it would hopefully bring to our home in Oklahoma. We don't see snow very often down here, but I still remembering how much we enjoyed sliding down the hill at the park. I made this card for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week and for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge, Seeing Double. Although I don't get to see real snow often, I'm glad I can use these sparkly Cricut cut snowflakes on my project. I need to find a picture of my sister and I going down the hill to send to her along with the card.

An Attitude of Gratitude

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  The blogger in front of me is Pamela O'Connor.   The Stampers with an Attitude are excited to show you our Gratitude with an Attitude artwork , so here we go.

This past year, I was challenged by my supervisor at school to pick a word to define my school year. The word I choose was Positive because I felt that I needed to work on getting back to my more positive upbeat self. I really wasn't sure if having a word would make much difference, but it has certainly helped me to focus on the positive things in my school life. When I saw the title of our blog hop, I thought that Gratitude would be a great word for me to embrace in 2014 at home and at work. I wanted to make a Gratitude journal that I could write in each night and list at least one thing I was grateful for on that day. I am learning that in many things in life, it truly is mind over matter. Having the right mind set may not solve every problem, but it is a great way to start!

So I started with a  5x7 card base using the frosted paper pack and added several layers. I love the stamp set Always Grateful. One of my favorite sayings is featured on that set, "Gratitude Turns What We Have Into Enough." I added a set of stamped trees with some snowflakes in the background to create a soft, whimsical look. What project would be complete without some bling, so I added several silver glitter gems. I took the finished card and slid it into the front cover of the My Creations Journal. For the finishing touch, I tied ribbon on the spirals on the side. Now to get started writing down all of the things for which I am grateful!

The next blogger on the hop is Melinda Everitt.

I am also using this project for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for this week. This project also works wonderfully for the Heart 2 Heart Blog Gratitude Challenge. For more detailed information on the making of this project, check out my post on the KellyCraft blog
